Itinerary (6 nights) Sunday to Saturday

Upon your arrival to Lima, you can expect a warm reception and assistance followed by an escorted short walk to Costa del Sol Wyndham Lima conveniently located at the airport.   Costa del Sol offers upscale amenities and ample time to rest and rejuvenate before embarking on your adventure.

You will be met at the hotel and receive assistance to take a brief walk to the airport for your LATAM flight to Cusco.  Upon arrival, experience a warm reception and transfer to Tambo del Inka, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa Urubamba located in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.  As part of The Luxury Collection, Tambo del Inka offers contemporary accommodations with elegantly designed rooms featuring private balconies and exceptional dining options.

During the journey, make a stop at Awanakancha, a weaving project by Andean communities, where you can observe the four American Camelidae (alpaca, llama, vicuna, and guanaco). Gain insights into their  wool and the ancestral techniques of weaving.  Explore the village of Pisac, its handicraft market, and the Inkairy Museum showcasing pre-Columbian cultures.  The rest of the afternoon is at leisure to acclimatize to the altitude at your own pace.

Embark on an exciting excursion to Maras to witness the salt mines from the Inca period, still in operation today. Continue to Moray, an agricultural center, with intriguing terraced circles. After exploring, enjoy a delightful lunch and then a visit to the fortress and town of Ollantaytambo, renowned as the last living Incan town.  Later, transfer to the train station for a scenic 1 ½ hour trip through the Urubamba Valley departing at 3:37PM on the Vistadome train to the town of Machu Picchu Pueblo arrival at 5:02PM.  

Dine and spend the night at Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel, situated at the base of the mountain. Nestled on over 12 acres of private mountainside reserve, this Inkaterra property resembles a miniature village, featuring 83 whitewashed adobe casitas connected by a network of winding stone pathways.

Embark on a 30-minute bus ride up to the awe-inspiring Lost City of the Incas: Machu Picchu, recognized as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Enjoy a private guided tour through the ruins, followed by lunch at Tinkuy restaurant, located next to the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge.  In the afternoon, board the Vistadome train from the Ollantaytambo station departing at 4:22PM and arriving at Cusco at 6:10PM. Upon arrival in Cusco, transfer to the Palacio del Inka, a Luxury Collection Hotel for a two night stay.

This Luxury Collection property is housed in a 500-year-old mansion, serving as a stylish retreat in the heart of historic Cusco, built atop an Inca palace.  The interiors boast colonial-era paintings, furnishings, carved wooden doors, tapestries and gilded mirrors, adding texture to the jewel-toned rooms.

Immerse yourself in the enchanting city of Cusco, celebrated for its well-preserved colonial architecture and its historical significance as the former capital of the Inca Empire, as well as the heart of the  indigenous Quechua culture in the Andes.  Embark on a guided private tour that includes the Plaza de Armas, the main square pulsating with history. Visit the baroque Santo Domingo Convent, constructed atop the Incan Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha). Explore the surrounding ruins, including Pukapukara (the red fort), Qenko, and Tampomachay. Culminate your tour with a visit to the renowned fortress and religious site of Sacsayhuaman, celebrated for its cosmic energy.  

The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure, allowing you to further absorb the captivating atmosphere of this culturally rich city.

Transfer to the airport in Cusco for your LATAM flight to Lima.  Upon arrival in Lima, experience a warm reception and transfer to the El Pardo Doubletree by Hilton Lima.  Located in Miraflores, the cosmopolitan district of Lima, El Pardo offers 241 renovated rooms and suites, all boasting high-end amenities and the brand’s signature Sweet Dreams beds to ensure a restful night.

At 2PM, embark on a guided tour of Lima’s main colonial sites; including The Cathedral, Plaza Mayor, Government and Archbishop Palaces.  Explore the private Larco Museum, known for its unique gold and silver collection, pottery vessels and erotic ceramics from pre-Inca civilizations.  Drive through Lima’s modern residential areas; San Isidro and Miraflores, with a visit to “Parque del Amor” and breathtaking ocean views.   Return to the hotel to rest and utilize your room.  Depending on your flight schedule, transfer to the airport for your departure if you are booked on a red-eye.  Alternatively, if you have a Saturday morning departure, overnight at the hotel and transfer out the next morning.

Deposits –  $300 per person to confirm the reservation

Final payment – due 60 days prior to departure

Cancellations – if received 90 days or more prior to arrival will get 50% refund of the deposit.  Cancellations 89-60 days prior to arrival forfeit the entire deposit.
