Astrid & Gaston – Though Astrid & Gaston has French roots, Chefs Gastón Acurio and Astrid Gutsche now serve up contemporary Peruvian cuisine that explores Peru’s culture, flavors, and local ingredients. Now housed in Casa Moreyra, the 17th century San Isidro estate, this Relais & Châteaux restaurant was voted #7 on the World’s Best Latin American Restaurants list in 2017. Central – Central is ranked #6 on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list for 2018—the third year on the 50 Best list! The restaurant was also ranked 2nd best restaurant in all of Latin America last year. Chef Virgilio Martínez’s prepares dishes that highlight Peru’s diverse ingredients, and he offers delightfully unique tasting menus based on the altitude at which the ingredients are found. La Mar –  La Mar, another restaurant by Gastón Acurio, is famous for its ceviche—a must have when in Peru. The menu here is constantly changing based on the fresh catch of the day. In addition to their ceviche, La Mar offers sushi made with local fish, langostinos, and chicharrones for a taste of Peru. The restaurant doesn’t take reservations, but we can assure you the seafood is worth the wait!

Bonito Pescaderia – You don’t have to eat at a large or high-end restaurant to get incredible food! Bonito Pescaderia is a small sustainable seafood restaurant that serves superb, simple, and fresh seafood at reasonable prices. In fact, the owner spearfishes much of the fish served here!

Mil – Another restaurant by Chef Virgilio Martínez, Mil offers a unique eight-step tasting menu focused strictly on regional ingredients like potatoes, corn, cacao, and alpaca. Lighter dishes are served due to high altitudes affecting flavor. This is sure to be a memorable meal served up with beautiful scenic mountain views. Keep in mind, this restaurant is only open for lunch so plan accordingly.
