Private Moments was introduced last year and is perfect for guests who appreciate a more intimate experience while on a luxury expedition cruise vacation. This is available on board the MV ORIGIN again for 2019 and we look forward to sharing with guests on the new MV THEORY when she takes her maiden voyage next month!
The Private Moments Experience
Feedback from our guests is very important in order to continue meeting and exceeding our guests’ expectations. Based on guest feedback over the past three years since the MV Origin had her inaugural voyage, we have curated services for passengers who want a truly unique experience while in the Galapagos.
The Private Moments experience begins at the airport for guests who arrive on our reserved flight with Avianca. We will upgrade you and your guests to Business Class seats and provide private VIP transfers to and from the airport in San Cristobal for a pleasant, stress-free beginning and end to your adventure in the Galapagos (Business Class seats depend on availability).
When you arrive on board, you will shown your deluxe stateroom where you will find a welcome basket with a personalized note from your travel designer, a box of Ecuadorian chocolates, assorted local fruits, and a unique item from the boutique.
We offer two naturalist guides for every ten guests (the lowest guide/guest ratio in the Galapagos), but this package goes above and beyond by providing you and your travel companion(s) with a private naturalist guide just for you! You will have the guide’s full attention to ask questions and learn more about the flora and fauna of the Galapagos Islands from a true expert.
If you purchase this package while traveling on Itinerary A, enjoy a private behind the scenes tour of the Charles Darwin Research Station. The station visit is a highlight for many of our passengers where they can learn about the breeding projects in place to restore both animal and plant populations on the islands. During your private tour, you will see collections of scientific research and learn about conservation efforts on Santa Cruz Island with a representative from CDF.
Romance On Board
After an exciting day exploring the islands with your private naturalist guide, you and your guest can enjoy fine cuisine and beverages of choice from our open bar. If you prefer to have your evening meal in a more intimate setting, we can arrange for a private table for two in our dining room.
The highlight of our Private Moments package is surely the private zodiac ride with our captain at sunset for you and your guest. Share a bottle of wine (red, white, or sparkling) and savor the beauty of the islands. This private zodiac ride is offered one time during your trip. At Baroness Point, Floreana Island for Itinerary A and Tagus Cove, Isabela Island for Itinerary B.

“The next part was going out on a panga (a small boat) with just our ship’s captain and Freddy, one of the ship’s naturalists. Freddy had a guitar and sang two Spanish songs to us, one of which was my absolute favorite song, “Besame Mucho.” The second was one that my husband, Michael, recognized from when he was a kid. They brought drinks for us, and we went out before sunset, and it was totally magical. We loved it.”

The cost for Private Moments is $2,000.00 for up to 2 guests (net) and $200 for any additional guests (max 7).
Private Moments is ideal for a romantic couple celebrating a milestone anniversary, or for people who may have mobility issues and want to experience the Galapagos at their own pace, or for a small group of family or friends that prefer exclusivity (or are celebrating a milestone birthday). You will receive:
- A private naturalist guide just for you and your travel companions
- Private VIP transfers to/from the airport in San Cristobal (only on our allotment flights with Avianca)
- Upgrade to Business Class seats on Avianca flight to SCY (only on our allotment flights) if available at the time of confirmation
- A private zodiac ride at sunset including a bottle of wine (red, white or sparkling) with our Captain offered one time during the week (on Itinerary A at Baroness Point, Floreana Island or on Itinerary B at Tagus Cove, Isabela Island
