Featured Excursions

Guided Nature Walks

Every day, our guides lead two multi-hour nature walks around the island we’ve called upon. You may explore lava fields, hike alongside cliffs, stroll along a secluded beach, or experience close encounters with Galapagos wildlife. You’ll spend as much time walking as you photographing the scenery and the fauna, watching for rare birds, and enjoying entertaining lectures from our expert guides.

Zodiac Excursions

Board an inflatable dinghy, or panga as they are known in the Galapagos, to access the islands from our expedition yachts. We use these small, low-impact Zodiacs to reach shore, explore mangrove estuaries, and caves.

Snorkeling

For many travelers, snorkeling in the Galapagos Marine Reserve is the highlight of the expedition, whether it’s from the beach or in deeper waters. Experience the underwater world firsthand during a snorkeling trip with Ecoventura-provided gear, where you can swim alongside native sea turtles, sea lions, and endemic marine iguanas. For those who prefer to stay dry, a glass-bottom boat is available for guests to observe marine life without getting wet.

Kayak and Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Explore the Galapagos by way of double or single sit on top kayak or paddleboard. After a brief tutorial, your naturalist sets you free to explore the islands’ secret coves and colorful beaches. Travelers can look forward to calm waters, frequent wildlife spotting, and a solid workout.

Scuba Diving

The Galapagos archipelago is situated at the confluence of major ocean currents, blending cold waters from the south with warm currents from the north and cooler currents from the west. Scuba enthusiasts are drawn to the Galapagos Islands for diving experiences unparalleled anywhere else on earth. For experienced scuba divers, we offer our dedicated scuba liveaboard—the 16-passenger luxury vessel, Galapagos Sky. Spend 3-4 days diving at Wolf and Darwin during the 7-night cruise to encounter whale sharks, schooling hammerheads, and manta rays.

Dolphin Spotting and Whale Watching

Whale and dolphin watching offers one of the most exhilarating and unforgettable experiences of a lifetime. While navigating through the archipelago, there is always the possibility for these amazing creatures to surprise us. The best chance to spot whales is between June and December when they migrate through the Bolivar Channel between the islands of Isabela and Fernandina. Sightings can happen anywhere and are never guaranteed.

Photography

Our multi-talented guides are often amateur photographers, and a few are certified photography instructors. They are always willing to assist guests in finding the best angles, lighting, and offer tips during excursions, particularly when booked on a designated photography departure.

Birdwatching

The Galapagos is on every birder’s bucket list with 174 unique species and 26 endemic native birds. Even non-birders get hooked by the colorful and curious mix of land and seabirds. Flightless cormorants, with tiny wings that can no longer fly, colorful flamingos wading gracefully on stilt legs, blue-footed boobies dancing like clowns to attract a mate, and frigatebirds shaking inflated red pouches as potential mates cruise overhead. Get up close and watch the show!

Stargazing

On a cloudless night when the sky is clear, the guides will summon you to join them on the sun deck to learn about the southern constellations. Relax in the Jacuzzi or have a nightcap on a chaise lounge under the stars as you gaze into the atmosphere. Sip on herbal tea and meditate as the stars and planets reveal themselves as you’ve never seen before.
