Guided Nature Walks
The best way to see the beauty of the Galapagos is during the guided walks and hikes that are scheduled each day on the 7-night cruise. During each day of your Galapagos cruise, there will be guided walks on a specific island where you will be able to walk and hike on beaches, lava fields, alongside cliffs, and around mangrove estuaries. Each island involves an easy or moderate walk, which can last between 2 to 3 hours and are not considered strenuous.
On these walks, you will be led by one of our expert naturalist guides in a small group of no more than ten guests along clearly marked trails, creating an in-depth and intimate learning environment. They will explain in great detail all the wonders of each of our carefully selected itineraries..
Our walks and hikes include Galapagos wildlife encounters, bird watching, scenic views, and detailed lectures with explanations from your naturalist guide on many issues concerning the islands. During your journey, you will be treated to many close encounters where you’ll be able to snap some amazing photographs or video of wildlife from up-close because the animals have never learned to fear humans.
Sea Kayaking
After choosing a single or double seater and taking part in a quick lesson, you and your loved ones can traverse the crystal blue waters of the Galapagos Islands in Ecoventura’s sea kayaks. With an activity that is equally fun as it is relaxing and tranquil, kayakers of all ages will enjoy taking in the beautiful sights while happening upon tide pools chock-full of active marine animals.
Stand up Paddle Boarding
As of 2016, Stand Up Paddle Boards (SUPs) have been approved for Ecoventura to use in the Galapagos on board our yachts, in the designated areas where we use our Kayaks now! There are two Stand Up Paddle Boards on each yacht: The Eric, Letty, and the MV ORIGIN. They will not be available on the Galapagos Sky, as scuba diving is the main activity on this vessel.
Zodiac Rides
Expeditions on our inflatable Zodiacs boats include mangrove estuaries, coves, and caves as well as close encounters with a variety of wildlife including reef sharks, sea turtles, golden rays, and more. Once reaching the estuaries, passengers are presented with the opportunity to paddle around unencumbered leaving them to explore with their loved ones.
Snorkeling
The most popular Galapagos cruise activity amongst visitors, snorkeling provides guests with the opportunity to witness sea life up close and personal in their natural habitat. Passengers can swim together among green sea turtles, reef fish, sea-lions, Galapagos penguins, marine iguanas, and more.
We provide the necessary gear free of charge and even provide wet suits for the cooler underwater expeditions typically encountered off the western islands.
ACTIVITIES ON BOARD
The adventure doesn’t stop once you return to the ship. On the contrary, when you’re aboard an Ecoventura vessel, we have enough activities and fun-filled events to keep you engaged for the duration of your stay. Whether at anchor or cruising the Galapagos waters en-route to our next island destination you will have the opportunity to learn, dance, and take in the natural beauty of your surroundings.Â
Daily Briefings
During the daily briefings aboard an Ecoventura cruise, you’ll be briefed on the day’s activities ahead including preparation, recommendations, rules of thumb for navigating your daily adventure, introductions to guides, equipment tutorials, etc.

While aboard the Ecoventura yachts, budding seafarers are given the opportunity to learn about navigational charts and nautical knots directly from the Captain.
Star Gazing
One of the unique opportunities available to those cruising with Ecoventura is a star gazing experience unavailable anywhere else on earth. Thanks to the total lack of light pollution (a direct result of having little to no human inhabitants), exploring a starry night in the Galapagos is sure to give you a glimpse of the heavens you and your family won’t soon forget.
King Neptune and Pirate Parties
On itinerary B, we hold a Crossing the equator ceremony hosted by King Neptune and on itinerary A, we hold a pirate-themed party on board. Fun for passengers of all ages, these pirate parties allow guests to channel their inner Jack Sparrows and dance the night away dressed as the seafaring outlaws of old. You’ll eat, drink, and swashbuckle with swords while conjuring your inner Peter Pan.Â
Cooking Demonstrations
Another popular onboard activity is our cooking demonstrations where our award-winning chefs showcase their skills while giving viewers the opportunity to pick up some tips and tricks. Â
In addition, we offer food-focused activities for kids including a pizza bar, chocolate fondue bar, hot dog bar, homemade cookie preparation, garnish class, and cake decoration.
As you can see, downtime aboard an Ecoventura cruise is only for those who seek it. There are so many activities available at your fingertips to fully experience the magic of the Galapagos – and keep you entertained for the duration of your vacation!
