Our upcoming Focus on Photography departures are fast approaching, and we couldn’t be more excited. Unfortunately for anyone hoping to join at the last minute, the departures scheduled for November 2021 are all fully booked. So to avoid any disappointment, why not plan ahead and book a Photography departure for Fall 2022?
These highly anticipated trips – recently featured in Porthole magazine – are the perfect way to make the most of one of the most photogenic locations on Earth. It’s no secret that the Galapagos Islands are a photographer’s paradise, with a host of wonderful creatures all too willing to pose for the camera, all set to the stunning backdrop of the beautiful islands, pristine beaches and turquoise seas.
Knowing how rewarding it is for our guests to capture their holiday highlights and do this amazing destination justice, we have been organising special photography departures for several years. After all, “Recording experiences from a once in a lifetime trip to this archipelago is fundamental to almost every passenger who travels with Ecoventura” said our very own CEO Santiago Dunn for the Porthole piece, and we couldn’t have put it better ourselves.
It takes two
To really help showcase the best the Galapagos have to offer for another group of budding photographers, we thought we’d push the boat out – this year, our lucky guests will be hosted by not one, but two professional photographers.
Joining our regular photography guide Antonio Adrian, we are thrilled to introduce our new photography specialist, the one and only Fernando Sanchez.
A hugely experienced naturalist and guide who has worked in the Galapagos for many years and knows the islands – and its wildlife – better than anyone, Fernando is also a National Geographic Society-trained photography instructor with a particular interest in sustainable development and environmental education. Who better to have on hand to offer tips, guidance and know-how when travelling around the Galapagos?
Joining Fernando will be our regular photography guide Antonio Adrian.
With degrees in environmental and educational sciences, a qualified diving specialist and, of course, a certified photography instructor, Antonio has been leading our Photography Departures for several years, and is a highly experienced guide in his own right.
And as these guides show you around the islands, you’ll be in the hands of some real pros.
As well as showing you the flora and fauna on and around the islands, they will help you understand your camera, enhance your composition and framing techniques, and offer tips for wildlife photography in particular (and the challenges it entails!) – all to help you take that perfect shot.
All in all, a perfect combination for a voyage around the Galapagos, and a perfect opportunity to finesse your photography skills.
