March 14, 2020
Dear Ecoventura traveler,
Due to the latest developments over the past 24 hours in Ecuador including restrictions imposed to travelers, and with the recent closure of the border to prevent the global spread of COVID-19, we have been forced to temporarily suspend our operation by reason of force majeure all our cruise departures effective March 15, through April 19, 2020.
Over the past 60 days, we have increased our protocol on ship sanitation, screening of our crew and guest, reviewed evacuation strategy, added ozone producer and filters among others. We fear the limitations on travel and also the ability to identify active cases with no symptoms will pose an increased threat to our crew and guests. Our number one priority is their health and safety as we are extremely responsible for both and also to the Ecuadorian population that serves as host.
These past few weeks we have received calls from guests that are not confident in traveling and even though not covered by insurance, we are willing to relocate guests on future departure dates.
Our sales offices will remain open, but we will be flooded with emails and phone calls. Rest assured that we will reply to each and every one so please accept our apologies if there are delays. Right now your concern should be to stay safe with your families and in the future to be able to travel with us, to have a lifetime experience – and a joyful one! And, not be stressed before and after the trip due to concerns around it.
I am sure we, as global citizens, realize that it was our civic and moral duty to take part of this global effort to reduce this threat to humanity. Hopefully, we will all understand that to postpone any travel will help us reduce the spread of this disease.
Best Regards,
Santiago Dunn
