Exciting times are in store as the Galapagos Islands has announced that they are officially Covid-19 free and will reopen to tourists on 1st July – only a few short weeks away!
With new controls in place to safeguard the safety and health of travellers and residents alike, and an enhanced cleanliness and sanitation regime on board our vessels, we are ready to welcome guests to this breath-taking archipelago once again. Whilst the crew have been busy training and reorganising our yachts to adapt to the new normal, even our chefs have been busy working on a new menu.
Have the Galapagos to yourself
With numbers likely to ramp up slowly, this could be the only time in history to spend time in these magical islands, surrounded by astonishing wildlife and with a host of excursions and activities, yet with so few tourists and other vessels in view. If you ever want to feel like you have the Galapagos to yourself, now is, without doubt, your best shot.
At a time when cruising on a larger ship could be a challenge, our boutique luxury yachts – the only Relais & Chateaux vessels in the Galapagos – are the safest and most comfortable way to see the islands.
Unmissable offer
With that in mind, and to celebrate taking to the seas again, we have decided to offer our guests a spectacular offer that is truly once-in-a-lifetime.
Ecoventura is offering an unheard-of charter rate of $112,700 (regularly $161,000) for up to 20 guests on the Origin & Theory, exclusive of airfare and taxes, on available departure dates up to the 7th of March, 2021. No deposit is required and guests can cancel up to 31 days prior to departure.
What’s more, for groups of 16 or less and if you really want to travel in style, two of the cabins can be connected to make up our exclusive two-bedroom suites. Perfect for those seeking total privacy and their very own space whilst exploring the islands!
For those who aren’t looking to charter a vessel, Ecoventura will waive the deposit requirement for guests who book a cabin for any departure date (excluding holiday weeks) on any available cruise in 2020 if confirmed prior to 31st August, 2020. In addition, final payment will be due at 30 days.
Why a private charter could be the best decision you ever made
As people emerge, bleary-eyed, from many months of lock-down, quarantining, home-working and home-schooling, there are few more relaxing ways to celebrate than on the calm blue seas of the Galapagos, with private charter boutique cruises the perfect combination in this brave new world.
After all, chartering a vessel is the ultimate in exclusive travel, providing an intimate environment shared only with your own circle. The crew, from the captain through to the guides and everyone in between, are your own private staff ensuring a level of comfort unattainable on any other type of trip.
What’s more, with only your group on board our crew and guides will be able to tailor various elements of the voyage to your needs and tastes, offering flexibility unthinkable on a normal voyage.
A recent article featured in Bloomberg waxes lyrical about the benefits of small-ship cruises. Cruise expert Fran Golden imagines happier days ahead as she dreams of a luxury aquatic safari through the Galapagos Islands. When it’s safe to sail again, she dreams of once again basking in unspoiled nature, once again with a whole lot of luxury.
“Decisions come easy in a place where you can ignore human civilization for a while” she writes. “Between naturalist-led excursions that explored uninhabited islands of various volcanic hues, through scrubland, in the water, and across sandy beaches, there is a lot of downtime.
“What will draw me back, especially in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, is that wandering among animals in this raw and wild place, 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador, I had never felt so in tune with nature—and alive” writes Fran.
After months stuck in the doldrums, the tide has turned and we are ready to sail once again. Welcome aboard!
